What makes SpecPad different from a basic notes app?

SpecPad is built for demanding note-taking. Alongside handwriting and typing, it includes specialty toolsets and templates geared toward medical, school, and engineering work, plus grids, rulers, notebooks, folders, and tags to keep everything organized.

Do I need an Apple Pencil?

No. SpecPad works with typing and touch, but it's designed to shine with Apple Pencil on iPad for handwriting and drawing.

Can I use SpecPad on both my iPhone and iPad?

Yes. SpecPad runs on both, and with iCloud enabled your notes sync across your devices through your own private iCloud.

Does SpecPad work offline?

Yes. Everything works fully offline. iCloud sync simply catches up the next time your device is online.

iCloud & Sync

How does syncing work?

SpecPad uses Apple's CloudKit to sync your notes through your own private iCloud account. Your content stays within your Apple ID — there is no separate SpecPad server, and I have no access to your notes.

My notes aren't syncing between devices. What should I check?

Make sure both devices are signed in to the same Apple ID, that iCloud Drive is on, and that SpecPad is enabled under Settings → [your name] → iCloud. A stable internet connection is needed for changes to sync.

Should I back up my notes?

Yes. Because your content lives on your device and in your iCloud, keeping iCloud Backup on (or exporting important notes) is the best way to protect your work. I can't recover lost notes for you since I never have access to them.

Subscriptions

How do I manage or cancel my subscription?

Go to Settings → [your name] → Subscriptions → SpecPad on your device. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. Deleting the app does not cancel your subscription.

How do I restore my purchases?

Open SpecPad, go to Settings → Restore Purchases. You must be signed in to the same Apple ID you used to subscribe.

How do I request a refund?

All purchases go through Apple. Head to reportaproblem.apple.com to request one. I can't issue refunds directly.

Data & Privacy

Where are my notes stored?

On your device, and — if you use iCloud — in your own private iCloud account via CloudKit. There is no SpecPad server storing your notes, and I can't see your content. The only data that leaves your device through me is anonymous purchase information sent to RevenueCat to manage subscriptions.

How do I delete my data?

Delete individual notes inside the App, or delete the App to remove its local data from a device. Content in iCloud is managed through your Apple ID and iCloud settings. To delete purchase records, email [email protected] with your Support ID.
