This Privacy Policy explains how CommandNest (the "App"), developed by John Steinmetz, handles your information. CommandNest is designed with privacy and security at its core: your server credentials and command data never leave your device except to connect directly to your own servers.

Summary

Server Connection Data

When you add a server profile in CommandNest, the following information is stored locally on your device only:

RCON passwords and authentication credentials are stored in the iOS Keychain, which encrypts them using your device passcode and hardware security. This data is never transmitted to John Steinmetz or any third party.

Network connections are made directly from your device to the server addresses you configure. CommandNest does not act as a proxy or relay โ€” your commands go straight from your device to your server.

Command History

Command history is stored locally on your device. It is never transmitted to our servers. You can clear your command history at any time from within the App.

iCloud Sync (Optional)

If you enable iCloud for CommandNest, server profile names and configuration (excluding RCON passwords and authentication credentials, which remain in Keychain) may sync across your Apple devices via Apple CloudKit. This data is stored in your personal iCloud account โ€” we do not have access to it. Credential sync is intentionally excluded for security. You control iCloud sync through iOS Settings โ†’ [your name] โ†’ iCloud. Apple Privacy Policy

Subscription Processing via RevenueCat

CommandNest uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions and entitlement validation. RevenueCat receives only an anonymous, randomly-generated app installation identifier โ€” it receives no server data, no credentials, no command history, no name, no email address, and no personally identifying information of any kind.

What We Do Not Collect

We do not track users across apps or websites.

Third-Party Services

Data Security

RCON passwords and authentication credentials are stored using iOS Keychain, which encrypts sensitive data at the hardware level and ties it to your device passcode. Server profile data is stored using Apple on-device storage technologies. We minimize data collection to reduce your exposure โ€” the best security is not collecting sensitive data in the first place.

Children's Privacy

CommandNest is intended for server administrators and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights

Because CommandNest stores all data locally on your device, you maintain full control. You can delete server profiles and command history within the App at any time, or delete the App to remove all locally stored data. Keychain entries are removed when you delete the App.

Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The Last Updated date above will reflect any changes.
