Frequently Asked Questions

How do I import a screenshot?

Drag and drop a screenshot from Finder onto the canvas, or click File → Import Screenshot and select your image. PixelPlacard will automatically detect the device size if the filename follows standard iOS Simulator naming.

What export sizes are supported?

PixelPlacard supports all current App Store screenshot sizes for iPhone (6.9", 6.5", 5.5") and iPad (13", 12.9"). Use Export → All Sizes to generate the full set at once.

How do I add a caption or text overlay?

Select your canvas in the sidebar, then click the Text tool in the toolbar. Click anywhere on the canvas to place a text layer. Use the Inspector on the right to change font, size, and color.

Can I save a template to reuse?

Yes. Once you have a layout you like, go to File → Save as Template. Templates appear in the New from Template dialog when you create a new project.

PixelPlacard won't open on my Mac — what should I do?

If you see a security warning, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to the PixelPlacard entry. This is a standard macOS Gatekeeper prompt.

My exported image is blurry — how do I fix it?

Make sure you import screenshots at the correct @3x or @2x resolution for the target device. PixelPlacard does not upscale images. Export using the PNG format for best quality.
