Frequently Asked Questions

How do I import a screenshot?

Drag a screenshot from Finder onto the canvas, or use File → Import Screenshot. If the filename follows standard iOS Simulator naming, PixelPlacard will detect the device size automatically.

What export sizes are supported?

All current App Store sizes: iPhone 6.9", 6.5", and 5.5", plus iPad 13" and 12.9". Use Export → All Sizes to generate the full set in one shot.

How do I add a caption or text overlay?

Select your canvas in the sidebar, click the Text tool, then click anywhere on the canvas to place a text layer. Font, size, and color are all in the Inspector on the right.

Can I save a template to reuse?

Yes. Once you have a layout you like, go to File → Save as Template. It will show up in the New from Template dialog next time you start a project.

PixelPlacard won't open on my Mac — what should I do?

That's a Gatekeeper warning. Go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to PixelPlacard. It's the standard macOS step for apps downloaded outside the App Store.

My exported image is blurry — how do I fix it?

Make sure you imported at the right resolution for the target device (@3x for most modern iPhones, @2x for older ones). PixelPlacard doesn't upscale, so blurry output almost always means a low-res source file. Export as PNG to avoid any compression artifacts.
