Shipnotes ("Shipnotes", "we", "our", or "us") respects your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Shipnotes app and how that information is used.

Overview

Shipnotes is designed with privacy in mind.

Your project data, bugs, features, notes, tasks, and related content are stored locally on your device and optionally synced through your personal iCloud account using Apple CloudKit.

• We do not operate our own servers for storing your project content.
• We do not sell your data.
• We do not collect personally identifiable information for advertising purposes.

Information We Collect

Local and iCloud Data Storage

The information you create in Shipnotes — including Projects, Bugs, Features, Notes, Tasks, Tags, Statuses, Due dates, and related metadata — is stored locally on your device.

If iCloud sync is enabled, this data is synced securely through Apple's iCloud services using CloudKit and is associated with your personal Apple account. We do not directly access or manage this data.

Subscription and Purchase Processing via RevenueCat

Shipnotes uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions, purchases, and entitlement validation. RevenueCat is provided only an anonymous, randomly-generated app installation identifier — it receives no name, email address, phone number, payment card details, government-issued ID, biometric data, or any other information that could identify you as an individual.

Specifically:

• The identifier passed to RevenueCat is an app-scoped anonymous ID generated at install time. It is not linked to your Apple ID, iCloud account, or any personal profile.
• RevenueCat uses this anonymous identifier solely to validate subscription status, restore purchases, and manage feature entitlements.
• RevenueCat may also receive limited technical information such as app version, platform (iOS), and transaction metadata provided by Apple. None of this data identifies you personally.
• We do not use RevenueCat data for advertising, behavioral profiling, or any purpose beyond subscription management.

What We Do Not Collect

Shipnotes does not collect:

• Names, email addresses, or phone numbers
• Contact lists, photos, or messages
• Location data
• Advertising identifiers (IDFA)
• Personal project content for external storage or analysis
• Payment card or financial account information

We do not track users across apps or websites owned by third parties.

Third-Party Services

RevenueCat

Used exclusively for subscription management, purchase validation, and entitlement management. Only an anonymous, app-scoped device identifier is shared — no personally identifying information. RevenueCat Privacy Policy

Apple iCloud / CloudKit

Used for optional data synchronization across devices. Your synced data is stored within your personal iCloud account and governed by Apple's privacy practices. Apple Privacy Policy

Data Security

Your data is stored using Apple system technologies and protected by the security measures provided by your device, iCloud account, and Apple's infrastructure. While no method of storage or transmission is completely secure, we take reasonable steps to minimize data collection and exposure.

Children's Privacy

Shipnotes is not directed toward children under the age of 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

Your Rights

Because Shipnotes stores data locally and through your personal iCloud account, you maintain control over your information. You may:

• Delete app data at any time within the app
• Disable iCloud sync through your Apple settings
• Delete the app to remove all locally stored information

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Updated versions will be reflected by the revised effective date above.
